The By Laws for the 2014 Borneo Headhunters Hat is as follow:

Captains

Teams will elect their own captains on Saturday morning at the 7:30am team meeting. Please be at the field by 7:15am. We suggest that teams choose a captain that will champion the Spirit of the Game. Other good traits to have in a captain: Knowledge of the rules, knowledge of game plays and experience.

Team captains must report to the Tournament Director by 7:45am Saturday morning for Captain’s briefing.

Tournament Format (Morning games)
There will be 3 group of 4 teams. Each group will play at the same field for the morning Pool games. Captains will draw lots during the 7:45am Captain’s Briefing to decide team placements for group games.

After all the morning match results are in, teams are seeded in their groups to determine the afternoon playoff games. Teams with more wins will be seeded higher and in the event of a tie, point differential will be used. Higher point differential will be seeded higher.

Point Differential = Offense points – Defense Points
Example: Your team scores 10 points during group games and your opponents score 4 points on you. Your Point Differential is 6 (10 minus 4).

GroupGames

Tournament Format (Play-offs)
After the morning games, teams are seeded within groups and point differentials are calculated before splitting teams into Pool A, B and C. Pool A is the three top teams (from Group A, B and C) plus the best second place team based on point differentials. Pool B is the other two second placed teams plus the two best third place teams. Pool C is the remaining third place team and the three fourth place teams. Teams are also seeded within their respective Pool to determined seedings.

No Moaning
The Tournament Director (TD) has the last and final say.
We have made every effort to balance the teams. Your team is what it is. Act like a champion and use what you have to overcome adversity. Whatever happens to your team’s players on the day (no shows, upset stomachs, snowball in the eye) is your team’s fate and we cannot change it.

The Borneo Headhunters Hat wants to be known as one of the Best Spirited Tournament in Asia. Help us by being friendly, having fun and making good calls on the field. Remember, when in doubt or disagreement after explaining calls, just contest and take the disc back and play on.
